Water and mountains, more than anything I know, bring ease. And perspective.
Standing on an empty beach looking across the waves, I sense contraction around “me” and “mine” soften.
Preoccupations that otherwise fill all the space get smaller.
Panning out, I feel the claustrophobia of my mind dissolve.
From this more spacious place, I can breathe again.
And I can see, with far more clarity, where I want to make it different.
Where I can do something differently.
Standing on the edge of an expanse much vaster than ourselves, what fades? What comes into focus?
Is there somewhere you can make it different today? If so, what changes?
I’d love for you to share in the comments.
