When life feels busy and complicated, simple pleasures offer tremendous solace.
That in mind, here are three things I’m loving lately.
Though small, they bring much ease.
Thing one: quiet coffee shops.
There are countless spots for fantastic coffee in this town. I gravitate towards those with a hushed vibe and tables tucked into quiet corners.
Thing two: extra-dark chocolate.
Three squares make the perfect after-dinner dessert. All the more so when savoured bachelor-style, out of tomorrow’s coffee filter.
Thing three: homemade thank-you’s.
These came from students finishing their 5-year Doctor of Chinese Medicine program.
The muffins were paleo, free of added sugar, and absolutely divine. The package contained delightful beeswax candles. The words inside the card touched my heart.
